This post has been a long time coming but I just didn’t have the time to write the post. I got reminded again by my 2 year’s old this morning during our morning commute when he told us that he wanted to go to Korea again. He wanted to eat a double cheeseburger and fries and go to Pororo Park in Korea. I’m constantly amused by the snippets of things he remembers about each trip.
As a family we definitely love travelling and exploring new places. We have been a big advocate in getting Junior exposed to the world which is why we always brings him along whenever we travel. We also believe that he does remembers bits and pieces of where we went and what we did with the help of photos and videos. One thing for sure is that he remembers more than what we think he would.
Happy Monday! This will be the first of many post regarding Seoul as I’ll be putting up some posts regarding places to go and things to look out for especially when travelling with a toddler. I started the Around the World fabric series for a while now to document all these fabric places I’ve been to whenever I travel. Part of the fun is researching these places and eventually making it there and immersing myself in what the place has to offer and its culture.
Travelling on a plane with a toddler while having its challenges was not as daunting as I’ve expected it to be. I’ve heard or even witnessed horror stories of how toddler couldn’t stop crying or was constantly screaming that made me worried about taking that first flight out. But of course the wanderlust got the better of me and we braved our souls for what may come – being judged or not.
Back in October, we spent a week in Hong Kong (long I know). We wanted it to be a leisure trip where we could do a lot more sight-seeing and we did exactly that by slowing our pace down. The possibly unfortunate thing was having Junior come down with a fever where we spent a day in the hotel room just for him to recover – not that I minded actually. Despite that, we managed to spend a day in Hong Kong Disneyland.
At 1.5yrs old, Junior makes his second trip out of the country and my much needed break. I’ve recently just concluded some projects at work and was dying for a break to recharge and rejuvenate. We chose Perth because i) we were travelling with my folks and they loved Perth and ii) I had so many great reviews and recommendations from friends and iii) Australia is such a family friendly country.
When planning for our first family vacation (*squeals*), I spent many days and nights brainstorming and asking around for a suitable destination for my 1 year old. Most friends were rooting for Australia (it being child friendly and all that), but I was worried about food and the duration of the plane ride (7 hours seems like eternity). I even googled aplenty with searches like “holiday destinations with toddler”.

Throwback to us being in Amsterdam during our honeymoon and trying to keep warm in the freezing cold.
The weather in Singapore has been rather nasty the last couple of weeks. It has been really hot and humid with downpour on certain days. Is this how it’s supposed to be like transiting from summer to autumn? More people are definitely falling sick especially when the virus goes around in the office. I’ve developed a cough too which I’m hoping will go away soon. With junior on the way, I’m going natural without any medication (ok, I cheated, I had some mild Chinese herbs).
I am so over the heat and humidity already.
