While I need no prompt in wearing me-makes, I am just as excited to join the rest of the sewing community in this month’s quest on wearing more me-makes! Having participated for the last 2 years and learning much from it, I’ve thought harder about my pledge this year.
How are all you lovelies holding up for Me Made May so far?
I’ve been able to wear mostly me makes for this week and I have to say I’m pretty proud of myself. But I suppose at some point I’ll have to re-wear some of these pieces. But so far so good for week 1. I’ve also been enjoying looking through Instagram at all the lovely makes and very inspired by some. I already have some new patterns shortlisted and would love to try them soon! The community has been so awesome and this is such a fun activity – I still can’t wrap my head around how many people actually sew as well. I hope this inspires friends who are thinking of joining me made may to jump on the bandwagon or friends who are thinking if they should really start learning to say, I’ll say go for it man!
Last month we celebrated Chinese New Year here in Singapore. It’s an occasion where we take time to visit relatives and gather with our love ones celebrating the cross over to a new year. It is also in tradition that married couples give out red packets to younger relatives or parents and grandparents as a form of blessing. I’m sure there is a lot of great articles out there on what Chinese New Year and its traditions really mean.
Of course I didn’t planned to sew a box tee which on hindsight I am wondering why I haven’t thought of doing so sooner. Box tee is awesome for casual wear on the weekends and super comfy with lots of moving space to chase after a cruising toddler.
A year ago we welcomed this bundle of joy into our lives. Who knew that the year will pass by in a flash and that my little bub has grown from an infant to a baby to now a toddler?
This really Oomph up the cute factor of coasters and sooo easy to make.
Junior at 6 months when teething was at it’s peak
After spending nine months in the womb, we try to get baby to be accustomed to the outside world and this is why swaddles are so important.
