Inspired by Allie, I’ve also decided that I should give my self-drafted makes more love by giving them more presence through naming them. I’m guilty of downplaying self-drafted patterns, by no means are they easier to make than commercial patterns. In-fact they require even more effort!
Just this week I posted on Instagram (@adesays) about how weekends for me is all about exploring the outdoors and running about and that short is now my go to outfit for the weekends. What then work great with shorts would be some neat nice tank/blouse which I really have a lack for.
Last month when The Monthly Stitch held it’s annual Indie Patter Month challenge, I jumped on the opportunity to try a new pattern and also to have some fun. I have been quite conservative in using commercial and indie patterns and have preferred to draft my own for I was afraid of fitting issues. I supposed all I needed was some motivation to start my engine rolling. So, I decided to jump into the deep end to challenge myself this Indie Pattern Month.
Anyone of you misses Me Made May like I do? I never thought I’ll miss it that much but that really gave me the shove in planning my wardrobe for most days in May. Now, I’m a lot less discipline and a lot more haphazard in choosing my daily outfits. Well.. well, definitely something I gotta do about!
Last month we celebrated Chinese New Year here in Singapore. It’s an occasion where we take time to visit relatives and gather with our love ones celebrating the cross over to a new year. It is also in tradition that married couples give out red packets to younger relatives or parents and grandparents as a form of blessing. I’m sure there is a lot of great articles out there on what Chinese New Year and its traditions really mean.
Of course I didn’t planned to sew a box tee which on hindsight I am wondering why I haven’t thought of doing so sooner. Box tee is awesome for casual wear on the weekends and super comfy with lots of moving space to chase after a cruising toddler.
I’ve been so busy sewing things for the house and the little bub that I totally neglected sewing for myself! I had this pattern drawn and hatched for the longest time ever but I just hadn’t found the time to stitch them all up.
MMM outfits for Monday, Thursday and Saturday.
