I remembered going to plenty of indoor playgrounds with my cousins as a kid. Being one of the oldest among my cousins, I am often seen protecting them from other rowdy kids and teaching them all kinds of mischief. What fond memories I have of these adventures.
Similarly, I hope Junior forms his own fond memories of adventures he can look back on. Although we don’t frequent indoor playground just yet, we’ve been to a couple just for us to spend time and have fun together as a family.
Amazonia is situated within Great World City which makes it easy to get to. I’ve walked past this place so many times I never knew what really went on inside. The place is huge at 9,500 square feet and is fully air-conditioned. There are about 4 zones within the vicinity (Toddler Play area, Jungle Play Gym, 3D Glow Golf and Space Ball) and a bistro where parents could dine while their little ones explored the place.
The most age appropriate area for Junior was the Toddler Play area. He was glued to the ball pit and mini slide and almost hadn’t wanted to explore any other area. Initially I was apprehensive at the Jungle Play area which seems more suited for kids between 3 to 12. It is a 6 storey play area with an 8-metre-high 4 level wave slide, spiral slide, suspension bridges and tunnels. I didn’t think Junior will enjoy the jungle play area because he might be intimidated by the sheer size. But I was so wrong. He had a ball of fun with his dad climbing, sliding and tunnelling around. He didn’t seem fazed at all by the 8-metre high slide. It’s a good thing that the structure can accommodate parents who supervises their kids.
As a parent, I also had fun at the 3D Glow Golf and Space Ball room. The 3D Glow Golf is a 9 hole indoor putting course complete with 3D Glow in dark artwork. As for the Space Ball, the room has 8 cannons and an electronic scoreboard meant for you to shoot against each other to gain point. And again this was in the dark completed with 3D Glow. Both of these play areas are done in the dark and the cannons in the space ball room can get quite loud when it is shooting out balls. Like the Jungle Play area, I didn’t think Junior would be keen in playing in a dark room but again I thought wrong, He actually requested to play in both rooms after seeing how much fun the other kids are having.
Overall we had fun and what matters most was that Junior had fun. I should probably plan a little play date among his friends so that they can enjoy the place together.
